I am very happy to now represent Yanagisawa saxophones – I’ve been playing the S-880, silver plated with lacquered keys for many years, and it has become an integral part of what I can say in music.
In September of this year we were in Tokyo again for a brief stay with Norma Winstone and Glauco Venier, playing the Pit Inn, famous Tokyo Music Club, and finally found some time to go the Ynagisawa Service Center, which is in the same building than the Pit Inn Music Club.
A kind friend and colleague Ryosuke Hashizume invested time and effort to go with me and be of invaluable help in the field of linguistics (!) – and I had the chance to try more soprano saxophones, especially the totally breathtaking sterling silver saxophones they make.
Of course, I had to buy the sterling silver, gold-plated neck for my soprano, which already was a big boost in sound colour and dynamics.
Thanks Yanagisawa, keep building great horns. I am so glad to be part of your club!
